CP41, a colony of Epizoanthus polyps encases this deep-water hermit crab, replacing the typical gastropod shell.

本種雌雄異型且雌雄蟲均有個體變異；雄蟲前翅黃色並佈有大片黑褐色斑紋；雌蟲前翅可從純白色至黃色密佈黑色斑點；本種多分佈於中海拔地區。

本種雌雄異型，雄前翅除近基部外其餘鱗片早於羽化後便漸漸脫落，形成透明翅膀；雌蟲為乳白色，前翅具有稀疏黑色鱗片；本種為低海拔物種，季主植物為桑棵榕屬植物。
