本種是同屬種類中體型最大的一員，其雄蟲展翅約10至12CM，雌蟲展翅約11至13CM；雌雄同型，前後翅均為青藍色，前後翅中央均具有一明顯眼斑。

本種雌雄異型；雌雄蟲前翅為褐底密佈黃色細紋，但雌蟲前翅不同於雄蟲，其前翅具有大片黃色斑紋。
