糙葉白髮苔

植物體樹生或土生，白綠色。葉披針形；葉尖具疣突。葉基橫切面(圖片右上)中央約3層細胞厚，兩側約7層細胞厚。莖橫切面(圖片右邊中間)不具中心束。

鞭枝苔

植物體生長於樹幹上，匍匐，枝條常具鞭狀的無性芽。葉卵形至狹卵形，先端突尖。葉細胞長菱形；葉基分化成矩形至長矩形，黃色。
本種最大的特徵在於枝條常具鞭狀的無性芽，在野外非常容易辨認。

粗齒雉尾苔

植物體直立長達5cm或更長，帶有絲綢般的光澤。葉略為偏向一邊呈鐮刀狀；葉基明顯分化，褐色至紅褐色；葉緣在葉中部具舷，約2-3列細胞寬，在葉上部呈鋸齒狀；中肋達尖至突出；上部葉背具成對齒。

培鐵真苔

筆者以前常誤認為此種為真苔Bryum argenteum，同樣植物體帶有白色至銀色的光澤，然而此種常有無性芽，植物體較為粗短，葉中央細胞較細長，若有蒴，則蒴不彎曲或微彎，可以真苔作區別。
