筆者以前常誤認為此種為真苔Bryum argenteum，同樣植物體帶有白色至銀色的光澤，然而此種常有無性芽，植物體較為粗短，葉中央細胞較細長，若有蒴，則蒴不彎曲或微彎，可以真苔作區別。

挾葉擬合睫苔

植物體直立，常呈墊狀生長，黃綠色，常見於臺灣中海拔開闊地區的岩石上；葉線狀披針型，乾燥時強烈捲曲；葉基呈V形分化，具肩部；葉緣平坦不背捲或腹捲。葉細胞具多個疣。中肋達尖；橫切面有兩層石細胞。蒴齒白色。
